Don't need banks, at all. Fiat currency is the control mechanism of current, any exchange results in the same design.

Not being a fortune teller, I have no idea how this is going to pan out.

But my best guess suggests that we are looking at a few hundred years of slavery before they are able to build a matrix like automation system.
