Why don't they fly over Antarctica then, it should be faster for some flights, but they dont do it, and it's always cold that high
Because there is no emergency infrastructure
And yet they fly over the North Pole.
The North Pole is much closer to civilization than the South Pole.
As if that would improve your survival rate if you crash landed. It won't.
