Buy Gold

I own bullion. Buy gold cheapest to the spot value. Never buy gold based upon the rarity or collectability of the coin.
The cost of bullion goes up in times of crisis. It's lame to wait until the sky is falling to buy metals: you won't be able to liquidate until the sky falls again.
I actually always try and buy when there is a dip in the market. It doesn't have to be a huge dip, but the market does move. You don't want to buy at the top.
Buy food, water, supplies, gear, ammo, etc., but also buy physical gold.
Yeah.
I would make sure you have your own water supply. Like a well.
Backup power supply in case grid goes down.
Some sort of supply of food. Your own garden, stored food, livestock.
Guns, ammo, security measures
THEN, once you checked off all those items, THEN keep a portion of savings stored as gold. Preferably in 1/4 or 1/10 ounce US minted gold coins so that you can spend them, people don't question their legitimacy when you need to use them.
Truth. Yeah, definitely wise to buy 1/4 oz or 1/10 oz (or a combo of both), also because who the heck buys $2,000 worth of goods regularly (the current approx. value of a 1 oz eagle).
The only use case for plowing is to correct hardpan caused by plowing.
Read some farming books written before the advent of the tractor and artificial fertilizers. Modern row farming wastes 50+% of your acreage, increases the need for weed control, water usage and your dependency on added fertilizers.
And then do what with it? If society collapses who's gonna care about gold? If I've got extra supplies I won't give a shit about you bullion. I will want supplies of other kinds as barter.
Gold is only useful if society comes back. And you're assuming a raiding party doesn't murder you and take your stuff first.
This is literally the opposite of the truth. The only jew I know of who promotes gold is Peter Schiff. Everyone else promotes Bitcoin or other fiat bullshit. Also, I'm not a jew, if you're implying that.
Also, don't think of it as "buying" gold. Think of it as not keeping all your wealth in worthless piece of shit green paper with illuminati symbols and latin phrases all over it.
Gold is the oldest lasting form of money. Me recommending that people keep some of their wealth in gold is kind of like somebody 6,500 years from now telling you to buy bitcoin, if bitcoin had remained stable (in real terms) for those 6,500 years. Except that bitcoin would still require other people to keep computers running for you to ever use it, and it would still be trackable and hackable. With gold, you can carry enough money in your pockets to buy a house. it's not like it's some kind of a super inefficient system.
Gold is also very important if our society collapses and you need to emigrate to another society (bringing wealth with you).
Gold comes in useful during the societal collapse as well, perhaps buying your way off the gulag cattletrain.
Yea, good luck with that if society collapses.
Stockpiled food, I've always done that. What exactly would I lie about anyway? What would I have to prove?
You said economic hard times, not the collapse of society. I've done nothing for the collapse of society (except the same stockpiled food which would only delay the inevitable). Nice try though.
Gold is almost useless if the banking system collapses. Until they started using gold in electronics, it had practically zero use outside of being shiny.
Even lead will be more valuable than gold in a collapse scenario.
