by decreasing religiosity what religion do you mean? I've been wondering since always, why is circumcision even a thing in America. I don't think circumcision is a Christian tenet? but yes, immigration most likely has to do with it, as I've rarely seen circumcision mentioned outside of American context. from what I know it's always been something that pertains to Muslim or Jewish religious practices.
