Everywhere has a sign, because it costs them nothing to take in plenty of resumes. Retention rates are bad, but they have a stockpile of resumes to go through whenever they lose anyone. They can afford to lose a worker a month as they get 100 resumes or more a month from just having a sign out.
As an ally of yours i want to say, and take it for wbatever its worrh, i know everyone is different and WE ALL have our needs and so forth, but i find it very hard to take your posts seriously anymore when you say "ayh." Im.just making an observation here and ONLY SPEAKING FOR MYSELF. Don't take.this the wrong way, its just that something happened in the past few months. The "now hiring" signs are designed to make young people feel like shit. If you can't get a job at McDonalds, where can you get a job. These kids will turn to a life of crime or worse--a homeless junkie that will be dead in 7 years.

Well my company is not hiring. They just laid off 25% of their workforce, including myself, and don't really have enough money to make past the first quarter of next year. It's completely impossible for them to get venture capital funding as well. Tech. startups are dead, and that is very bad for innovation in the US.

I worked five years, outside in construction, while caring for two young kids on my own, to save up down payment for a house, which I did.
In those five years, the price of a house went from the low $300,000 to $800,000, meaning my down payment became less than half of what I needed and my wages would no longer cover said mortgage.
I'm now living in my cheap apartment, spending nothing, living on my savings, spending the time with my kids that I was sacrificing for a carrot on a stick. No unemployment when you quit. I've got no reason to play this game.
