Because he's been some of the most vocal and active against the covid lockdowns, masks, LGBTQ and critical race theory in schools, Undoing Disney's tax pardons. He also seemed to clean up Florida's elections and succeed in turning Florida more red.
Most Republican Governors didn't do shit. DeSantis actually took a stand. Though not much of one. Republicans are so fucking soft that DeSantis looks like a tough guy by comparison.
