There's probably lots of overlap between flat earthers and people who now don't believe in germ theory. How can they believe we are "part of something bigger" but also claim we are an isolated domed flat earth and the center of all universe and the sun and moon and stars just hover over earth?
Also, bacteria is in much of the food we eat and just having bacteria eating the same food we're eating isn't surprising. Fasting is probably done to address this and reduce levels of bacteria constantly entering body.
I was looking to buy a quality microscope. Looked online for options. They aren't cheap. I look under magnifying glasses when working on electronics repairs, soldering circuit boards, etc.
