Probably because you believe it does. Why do you think it looks like a spaceship / what is spaceship-like about it?
If there were no such thing as spaceships, what do you imagine it might look like instead? Some say/have said a wheel of cheese.
The presumptive answer is that that is the direction the light from the sun is hitting it. There are certainly other possibilities, however.
Sun hitting it from BELOW?
I don't think it looks like a spaceship nearly as much as it looks unnatural. Perhaps i should have said that instead of "spaceship." It doesn't look natural. I don't believe OR disbelieve in spaceships/aliens/etc. as ive seen no proof either way.
Im a "prove it, motherfucker!" kind of guy. God made me that way. I guess so he could send me to Hell for it? Hard to know motives. I wouldn't date me, much less want to spend eternity with me. Strange circular logic with the whole concept of making man question his God by nature and then damning him for it.
Plus, when i was a kid, the pastor of my church was caught molesting a girl with Down Syndrome. From that moment on, religion seemed trite and conniving. God would disagree? Or does he approve of molesting girls with Down Syndrome? Can't be both.
That part was off topic, perhaps, but I've been reassessing my priorities this morning and im not seeing much i can work with here.
Yes. Although if the sunlight were directly below the moon - we would expect the entire face to be illuminated right? The presumptive view is that the sunlight is hitting the side of the moon, and it looks like the bottom to us due to our orientation to it. As I said, there are other possibilities.
Fair enough. I think it is a bit odd, especially if you think it is a giant rock that floats above our heads and never falls. That would make it extraordinarily unnatural!
I think the reasonable position for such things is skepticism. If it hasn't been adequately demonstrated to be real, then there is no reason to assume it is.
As for aliens, I have done extensive study on the subject and found that they are entirely fictional and modern. The grey that we know and love wasn't created until the early 90's!
Completely acceptable response, and that is appreciated.
Good questions. It didn't used to "hit it from below". Orientation. Some say it changed it the early 00s, a lot of talk about it then, but I never found much.
