Why does the moon look like a spaceship?

Probably because you believe it does. Why do you think it looks like a spaceship / what is spaceship-like about it?

If there were no such thing as spaceships, what do you imagine it might look like instead? Some say/have said a wheel of cheese.

Why is it lit from below?

The presumptive answer is that that is the direction the light from the sun is hitting it. There are certainly other possibilities, however.

Do you think that the sun was designed to heat us and then the moon was designed to cool us?

I've seen people explain moonlight is cooler because the shade provided to block the moon also blocks heat escaping to space. Is there an experiment which has controlled for this?

Sun hitting it from BELOW?

I don't think it looks like a spaceship nearly as much as it looks unnatural. Perhaps i should have said that instead of "spaceship." It doesn't look natural. I don't believe OR disbelieve in spaceships/aliens/etc. as ive seen no proof either way.

Im a "prove it, motherfucker!" kind of guy. God made me that way. I guess so he could send me to Hell for it? Hard to know motives. I wouldn't date me, much less want to spend eternity with me. Strange circular logic with the whole concept of making man question his God by nature and then damning him for it.

Plus, when i was a kid, the pastor of my church was caught molesting a girl with Down Syndrome. From that moment on, religion seemed trite and conniving. God would disagree? Or does he approve of molesting girls with Down Syndrome? Can't be both.

That part was off topic, perhaps, but I've been reassessing my priorities this morning and im not seeing much i can work with here.

Sun hitting it from BELOW?

Yes. Although if the sunlight were directly below the moon - we would expect the entire face to be illuminated right? The presumptive view is that the sunlight is hitting the side of the moon, and it looks like the bottom to us due to our orientation to it. As I said, there are other possibilities.

I don't think it looks like a spaceship nearly as much as it looks unnatural. Perhaps i should have said that instead of "spaceship."

Fair enough. I think it is a bit odd, especially if you think it is a giant rock that floats above our heads and never falls. That would make it extraordinarily unnatural!

as ive seen no proof either way.

I think the reasonable position for such things is skepticism. If it hasn't been adequately demonstrated to be real, then there is no reason to assume it is.

As for aliens, I have done extensive study on the subject and found that they are entirely fictional and modern. The grey that we know and love wasn't created until the early 90's!

Completely acceptable response, and that is appreciated.

Good questions. It didn't used to "hit it from below". Orientation. Some say it changed it the early 00s, a lot of talk about it then, but I never found much.

I was thinking about this the other day. Specifically the theory that ufos werent a thing until the late 18th century when supposedly people were spotted flying some kind of airship.

https://www.theguardian.com/notesandqueries/query/0,,-2556,00.html

And I agree, ufo's are a new age invention. Even a thousand years ago, people knew who was flying them. Angels, our creators, whatever you feel like calling them.

Sure you can call bullshit, but I really dont think it is. Did you know that modern greek legends tell us that there was one flying chariot that pulls the sun behind it every morning and is an allegory for the sun.

https://www.greeka.com/greece-myths/phaethon/

Thats not true, in the original stories. The gods each had their own flying chariot, as well as a a charioteer to fly them. Thanks to hephaestus.

Hephaestus was the worker among the gods. He built the palaces in which the gods lived; he made the armor which they wore, the chariots in which they rode, and the tables from which they ate at their banquets. In short, if the gods wanted any thing made, they went down to Hephaestus where he worked in his shop underneath Mount Etna, and he made them whatever they called for, from a palace to a pair of golden shoes.

Of course the old sanskrit epics will have plenty of references to aerial chariots as well as missiles and cloaking technology. I dont expect you to believe me, its easy enough to find though. Although admittedly, this information appears to be actively scrubbed off the internet more and more as time goes on. It's easier to look through old books and find stuff than it is to find someone's well put together opinion. I usually quote the ramayana but i felt like something different today.

The next day Práņadhara took leave of the king, and after visiting Rájyadhara, repaired with his family into the presence of Naraváhanadatta. Naraváhanadatta, when he had returned thus quickly after accomplishing his mission, gave him a dwelling near his palace and an ample allowance. And he amused himself, and his wives, by going about in the flying chariots made by him, as if rehearsing future journeyings in the skies as emperor of the Vidyadharas.

Then the Vidyadhara, being ashamed, by his delusive power flew up invisible into the sky, and rained swords, clubs, and other weapons upon Prabhása. Prabhása, for his part, swept away his succession of missiles with others, and by the illuminating weapon made that Asura manifest, and then employing the weapon of fire, he burned up Vidyut prabha with its blaze, and bringing him down from the heaven, laid him dead on the earth .

Not really a 1990's invention, considering these stories are thousands, if not 10000+ years old.

But just inconvenient truths, am I right?

One part of ramayana's epic may be true. There exists in that area of the world a massive land bridge that has been shown to be likely artificially constructed.

Who knows though.

I generally don’t disagree with your speculations, or sources.

However - it is important to remember that ufo’s and aliens are entirely separate. They are falsely conflated by a psyop (since the late 40’s) to discredit and suppress discussion/study/reporting on the former (ufo’s NOT aliens) - don’t fall for it!

Ufo’s are very old, but our ufo’s - known as flying saucers - first began appearing around the 40’s.

Aliens never existed, and are entirely modern fiction. They are a fictional character that hails from a fictional scene location (“outer space”) which itself was first created around the 1700’s.

As i said, the modern grey that we all know and love was first created in the 90’s. Aliens are entirely fictional, and very modern. Ufo’s are another matter entirely!

Maybe what the ancients believed was god was really spiritually advanced beings teaching us how to do the same, but as priests or disseminators of truth typically do they fuck up the knowledge and thus use it for control. Hell is made up. If anything if you dont improve your spirit you will just reincarnate here or on a similar spiritual planet, or you will go to a more advanced spiritual planet. Satan isnt real either it is just that which is negative within every atom, and manifests in 98% of people with indecisive action or drifting through life being controlled by people with 2% of decisive action.
