Always good to find out esoteric knowledge. Someday I will be exploring an ancient temple, trying to beat the Nazis to the Holy Grail, and this might save the day. If you happen to see my dad around, tell him that Nazi gal had the clap and he'd better get himself checked.
Apparently mikvahs are the first thing that the Jews build when they go to an area. In fact, this is straight from wikipedia...."The existence of a mikveh is considered so important that a Jewish community is required to construct a mikveh even before building a synagogue, and must go to the extreme of selling Torah scrolls, or even a synagogue if necessary, to provide funding for its construction."
I would note that most of the stuff about the mikvah comes from "classical rabbinical literature", which basically means Talmud (not the word of God).
Ya know, the same law that requires the ashes of red heifers for purification. Makes total sense. I thought Jewish people were good at science and medicine?
Most religions have a tangle of primitive premises with no rational foundation. Their rules exist to control people, which was necessary in primitive times.
Any moral authority that depends on enforcing magical properties of water is utterly fraudulent. It's all about ritual then, and ritual is just a deflection to history as authority. Which is bullshit. Really, these people are still barbarian peasants both morally and societally.

Even in the Bible, when the Israelites were in captivity, they begged Pharaoh to let them go into the desert (for three days no less) to do sacrifices. Moses and Aaron said that if they didn't that "God would put them to the sword". Which was a straight up lie.
Animal sacrifices (esp. human) are barbaric to most people. There was a video on here recently of the five red heifers that Israel obtained from Texas, and everyone was all smiles choosing which cows they were going to kill. They even have a whole organization for it, Boneh Israel.
