I liked it. At least the first two episodes. Am I the odd one out. I will stick with it. Until it becomes worse. But I have a feeling, it is watchable. It was enjoyable.
They needed the backstory brought to TV. How it began. Yes they changed Galadriel's character to make it easier. Otherwise they're adding far more actors into it, and telling far more story. It probably should have been a film. But not after the Hobbit. Much worse. They have added/changed a few things to make telling that story easier. It is trying to give a beginning. Is it dreadful. Has it adversely changed the lore? Not in opinion. Not yet. It's easier in opinion to understand where it's going and why. But it has yet to get there and by that time I'd hate to guess.
I have watched it twice now, those two episodes. I sat through it, wanting more. Sorry. I know where fans are coming from as well. It has been a few years of god awful shit, and productions really messing with the lore, and really fucking things up. That anger is there at so much TV, and film right now. Especially since they went all political for the sheer dumb sake of it.
But there was still enough story here to want it showing it. I want to know what happened even in the variance. Unlike on other series I have stopped watching, won't watch, and really hated.
I hope my words don't bite me and they don't completely trash it by ending. But come on, it had moments that were actually really good. There were plenty that were entertaining and felt in genre, lore, and in theme.
Not an Amazon shill hated Wheel of Time. That had more wrong than right despite it being in genre.
