Here's a black pill take (note. I don't necessarily believe this but it's worth stating)
The truth is society has lost its satisfaction. Even the rich are bored. The future is boring if everything is solved....people don't want to live in a boring world and money doesn't make boredom go away if you have 1B+ extra people who also are trying the same thing....
I think they don't actually want just a depopulation because of control....I think they want it to revitalize the social structures....not just for the elite....I think they may be betting on just being able to survivave longer because of their existing power, but they don't have any real belief that they are invincible.
Instead...they want a challenge ... A calling. Something to pursue that's gives them meaning in their lives....just as we all do.
By bringing around a feudalist world....they have their wars and their passions back....they dream of empires fighting empires again.....
The American dream was challenge....it was the feudalism of the self....but somehow it has run out. (Sorry, but america doesn't have the dream anymore....it doesn't have the supports anymore for it....)
I too am bored. I feel like all the struggle is contrived. I don't feel like I have anyone to protect from anything really, any banner to fly, an empire to fight against or for that brings anything greater, or a purpose to champion.
Hobbies, pastimes, pursuits....sure. got a lot of those. Money isn't bad, could save invest and keep my head down and be fine.
But it's boring. I feel like over the years, I keep seeking escapes from the dullness of life...not the struggle....the struggle is all this 'convenience' and the apathy it has bred. I fear we are going to be seeing a 'Warriors' style moment soon amongst those negatively affected by the culture stagnation and perpetual numbing of our individuality.
Worrying about bills, and retirement and planning annual vacations....that's wrong kind of struggle
I don't necessarily believe we have lost the chance completely, but it's definitely getting harder to imagine a path, and it's clear that it's no longer an option for everyone to pursue.
When I was growing up, despite the media being propaganda to some degree still, it was always promoting the idea of a western ideal that anyone can become successful or at the very least have a meaningful life if they desire it and seek it.
Effort was promoted, and cheating was seen as a moral sin against yourself and others. Yet, it was common knowledge that people cheated and the themes of cheating applied to most antogonists.
Cut to today.... everything is about inclusivity at all costs, cheating is promoted as doing whatever it takes to get ahead, there is this combination of poor character traits combined with typically ignorance everywhere.
There is a lot condescending thematic dialogue designed to regurgitate ethical points about the environment and being guilty....
Even if you try hard, the world these days is telling you to do nothing and be little, and your magnificent ideas are no longer important unless they are esg compatible.
And then we get narcissistic billionaires who typically are all made by the state or government grants and giant contracts from family members also connected to grants etc....who claim they stand for individuals....despite literally reaping all benefits and accumulating wealth from the people mostly through cheat codes.....
You get pariahs claiming to defend you just to keep their ill-gotten gains, and then you have the collectivism trying to pull you down with them....
Individuals cannot do it alone, so we need a proper way of bringing back grassroots organization on the libertarian side for once...
A type of mini-republic that still acknowledges the rights of the members whilst allowing them to provide a subset of their own values and align with like minded individuals.
We cannot trust political parties alone anymore....we must take them back at a new layer ourselves....micro-republics to put forth candidates who represent the true underlying individual values.
