I think Putin set up Alexander to discover the bomb at the last moment and knowingly sacrifice his own daughter in the car to stay alive. The perceived "miss" benefits the Motherland (weak NATO terrorists, etc) while securing a death-pact between Putin and Dugina.
I hear a lot of talk-radio indicating this will kick off WWIII. I'm skeptical of that claim and don't believe this will escalate issues but I've been wrong before; I guess we will see where this goes.
