I wonder what happened in 2017, a new series of shots?
Just yesterday I was reading a Beatrix Potter story to my child, written in the late 1800s. In the story, the mother cat is having visitors but her kittens lose all their clothes. She puts them in their room and tells her visitors that they can't come out because they have the measles. So not only was measles common enough to use it as an excuse, but it was benign enough that the visitors wouldn't want to leave.
