Every time I see something like this, I have a certain kind of hope. People are terrified (terrorized?) that if they try to defend their lives and their property and that of others, they will bring down a shitstorm from the police and the state upon their freedom and their bank account. If they did not have such well-justified worries, I believe almost all our problems with crime dissipate very quickly.
