Agreed. People are too infatuated with the 3d printers that they don’t stop to think that they’re making something stupid. Something that could be done faster and cheaper with conventional materials and methods.
Using a 3d printer to make your own trigger mechanism, parts for stabilizing fins, etc would be cool and smart. Building a tube out of plastic when a metal pipe is so easy to come across is just pants on head retarded. To a hammer, every problem looks like a nail. And to a 3d printer fanatic, every item looks like it should be printed in molten plastic.
