Memory loss and muscle weakness, eh? Is there a method for detoxifying from mercury?

Sodium thiosulphate or raw egg white. Both helps to take out mercury and other heavy metals from the body.

Nearly everything on this list was bastardized by corporations. Chewing full leaf tobacco carries very little carcinogenics, asbestos has it's uses. Talcum powder is only dangerous when poorly sourced.

In short, there is no 'we' in this topic, there is only those who crave profits over our health, versus those of us, who trusted them in good faith.

Metalic mercury itself is not toxic. You can't be poisoned with that strange liquid metal, just avoid getting mercury in open wounds, it could get to bloodstream and block little blood-vessels.

F.e. search for Cody'sLab on youtube, he have a lot of interesting videos about mercury.

Mercury vapour could be toxic, but it vapourizes very weakly at normal temperatures, so you need to try hard to get somehow poisoned by mercury vapour.

In no case broken mercury thermometer could be dangerous, just collect all that shiny balls into plastic or glass jar with cup and you are completely safe. No need to call emergency or special team with hazmats and stuff. Don't use vacuum cleaner for this, it could break mercury drops into mercury fog that will be impossible to collect and it will be vapourize more effectively due to large surface.

Mercury compositions, especially organic are toxic, not the metal itself.

Also, metallic mercury have interesting ability to create an alloy with aluminium that don't have an oxide cover, so aluminium quickly oxidized by oxygen in air and fall out from alloy, leaving mercury to continue with other aluminium. So, a little drop of mercury could easily destroy a lot of aluminium turning it into heap of aluminium oxide. That is why it is prohibited to transport anything with metal mercury on the planes.

It is strange that there is such enormous fear about mercury was created for unknown purpose.
