Conversely, I find myself on the opposite end. My internal monologues feel more and more like dialogues and my verbalized thought process probably sounds batshit insane unless I’m drunk. It’s like I have to quiet and slow down the monologue/dialogue taking place in my brain in order for others to catch up.
I think part of the reason our internal monologs may be more intense is similar to when you try to sedate someone against their will. The person gets a burst of adrenaline and becomes more awake than ever to respond to the threat. Its the same with us, we see how they are trying to sedate, hypnotize, program us, so our minds are waking up more than ever in response.
