It has some rough edges and it's not perfect. It's weather-sensitive. Under no circumstances use it in places like Minnesota. It's for clear skies sunny weather. Don't drive in rain. Do not drive in snow. It has a response time so don't do high speeds. If you do 30 mph it's mostly okay. Don't take offramps at 65.
I do AI and I will never use a self-driving car. But then I never ride in anything I don't drive myself, not as a passenger. Taxis scare the hell out of me. Amish horse wagons, that's a good idea.
Correct. Adverse weather completely wrecks the sensors and sensing systems to the point that localization is thrown off and the vehicle doesn’t know where it is in relation to its environment.
I think they will eventually have it dialed in for highway use, but maybe never 100% in the city. It just goes to show how much information our brains take in, filter and process from one second to the next while driving.

It shouldn't just because of the jobs and economy it will crush
How do you think it works and what gives you the impression we are anywhere near that? Not being snarky, serious question
It's a self learning AI chip that will eventually drive on its own. Right now it's a little buggy.
