Twitter gets acquired and quickly admits it was "overestimating" millions of users since 2019. Does this merit a purchase price adjustment? (twitter.com)

That's called securities fraud, and the board should all be in pound-me-in-the-ass prison.

I am inclined to say yes, but it is unclear if the 1.9 million users out of the estimated 396.5 million users in 2021 is significant enough.

Is 1.9 million users the total number of bots or a number admitted to?

It was in the image. It refers to Twitter's mDAU (monetizable daily active usage). They claim that the usage of people linking mutiple accounts was incorrectly counted for each of their accounts rather than just once for their main account.

I did for awhile, but stopped when they blocked Trump. It was nice to actually interact with some podcasters I like, as their follower numbers were small enough they could be counted on to interact with the audience.

Then again, when I followed some authors that I thought were good, I found them to be rabid liberals, ruining expectations.

The only thing twitter is good for, is seeing what the "narrative" is in real time.

yeah my point is just that while i'm sure plenty of real people use twitter, my anecdotal observations also confirm what twitter is now admitting, that it's a low amount

According to NPR, NPR!, half the users tweeting about the corona hoax were bots
