Even Musk is not allowed to make cars from stainless steel. It is a huge rabbit hole you never thought about. Last man who made a car from stainless steel suddenly was jailed for drug trade. Yes, car engineer and manufacturer was jailed for drug trade. Later he had proved that it was FBI false accusation and set up and he was completely discharged, but it was too late, business already had been destroyed. John DeLorean, you know. No single car was made from stainless steel since then.
Really I thought that Musk will break that shitty taboo with his cybertruck, and it will become obsolete, opening the road for other car manufacturers. But seems that it is very strong taboo. Nobody allowed to break it. Even Musk.
Why is it such a taboo to make cars from stainless steel? Is it because stainless steel is much more durable (meaning, much less prone to rust & corrosion), so therefore, vehicles would last longer if stainless steal was used? Or is there some other reason for the taboo?

This is the main reason. I think there is something like Phoebus cartel was for light bulbs, but for the cars. Car manufacturers don't need cars that will last centuries. You could easily fix, replace and upgrade anything in the car except body. And it is a body that is marked with VIN code, so it is a body that officially represent a car.
This will turn out like the fucking cybertruck

Good point about the VIN.
