We are mostly OK, average Russian is feeded by state propaganda but don't believe it full. Average Russian think that Russia should win that war against West in Ukraine, but doubt that that strange way is correct one.
Are Russians true Christian Orthodox believers or is it fake belief like in the West?
It is very different. From pure atheists (USSR was atheistic state) who just like some Orthodox Cristianity holidays and gladly swim in ice-holes at Epiphany and celebrate Resurrection (Easter), to the stupid cultists who obsessed with idolising of saints and repeating rituals. Including ones who just like the theosophcal idea of Orthodox Cristianity but not really strict followers of every bit of that religion.
Orthodox Cristianity have deep roots in Russian culture, so, even being a complete atheist or even muslim you still influenced by that religion through culture.
