We've been fighting a proxy war in Syria, we destroyed Libya and turned the most functional country in Africa into a failed state and opened the floodgates for mass migration into Europe, we've been drone bombing Pakistanis for decades now, spent years in Afghanistan propping up the opium poppy farmers among other things, and we destroyed Iraq and left it so disfunctional that they couldn't even fight off ISIS.

Oh you mean that terror cell that had all Saudi members who couldn't even fly planes somehow hijacking planes and somehow putting them through stunts that were impossible for those planes? And 3 buildings all collapsed into their own footprints? And 4 planes all magically disintegrating? But the passport of one of the hijackers was barely even singed? And the whole of the pentagon had only one potato quality video of their attack? Yep you should totally accept that whole story at face value. :-)
