I think maybe he's gone partly blind from eyeball bleeds, that would explain why his eyes got so dark when he used to have light blue eyes. And some of the odd behaviors like walking off the wrong direction, walking with his hands in front of him, turning to shake hands with someone who isn't there, using extra large teleprompters, not being able to call on particular reporters to take questions, etc.
I actually had the thought that he might have had a heart transplant or something major like that...something that caused a massive change in his general biology.
