"The vast majority of those who have developed brain tumors “graduated between 1975 and 2000"
So either it was something that happened back then or it's something that has a 20 to 40 year incubation period. Unfortunately my money is on the latter right now. They also need to be checking surrounding areas, it may not be just at the school or even originating from school grounds. They should also be checking what industries have been present in that area. And sometimes businesses do not get the required licenses for the chemicals they are working with. For instance there have been multiple cases of companies mishandling ETO and causing cancer spikes in surrounding areas. ETO is invisible and odorless so you'd not easily notice..
Did they dump radioactive soil on the site where the school was built in 1967? Seems a reasonable hypothesis. It would be interesting to find truck drivers who were responsible for removing the soil...see if any got brain cancers...see if any are still alive to say where they dumped the soil...
Wouldn't radioactivity still be there? Seems like it would be easy enough to check. However the local govt may not be super eager to really look for it..
Should be detectable, yes. Would be good to know where it came from. Also whether some kind of criminal activity was involved, like dumping radioactive soil at a nearby, convenient open area in the dead of night or something like that...
Sounds like A Civil Action on steroids.

In California when something similar happened some people blamed it on 5G but it was polluted air and water coming out of LA.
