It is an Electron based proprietary app, with all shit that this programming platform brings. If you are not aware, Electron is a just a Google Chrome browser running local (and remote) Javascript code that makes user application. Any of that Electron based crap (VSCode, Discord, etc.) will leave and do a tons of shit on your computer, just like Google Chrome itself.
Do you remeber, that you don't need any third-party software to use crypto?
Also, if you see something that is not totally opensource connected with crypto, than it is a HUGE red flag.
It is not "popular software", it is more like forced or heavily marketed bloatware. This is what killing software industry. Totally red flag. From one side it force users to continously and uselessly upgrade their more than useful and powerful for any regular task computers and smartphones without any real reason and from the other side take away from users any control over their own computers.
