Then, folks diagnosed with HIV who were given AZT as a preventative then died from AZT effects were labeled as AIDS victims.

I can see both those things. But with all due respect, that doesn't answer my question of where AIDS actually comes from.
But unless you're telling me AIDS isn't real, which you're not, AIDS is a disease that kills people. Is it just its own separate disease with no relation to HIV?
I get that unnatural sexual practices and/or needle sharing cause certain segments of the population to get AIDS at higher rates while most people are at virtually no risk.
There are heterosexual AIDS patients from banging whores or groupies all the time, or ones that got it from blood transfusions before they tested for it. Or Africa, where it appears that lots of people have it for various reasons.
I have a ton of other things to read that are far more interesting. Working my way through the complete works of Edgar Allen Poe and The Yearling right now.
That said, as someone who has looked into autoimmune diseases quite a bit due to relatives with allergies and other autoimmune diseases, there is usually some underlying cause. I find it difficult to believe what we call AIDS is just some conglomeration of an autoimmune conditions that spreads mostly among people who exchange body fluids.
So what causes AIDS if not HIV? I'm open to learning more.

Look up VAIDS - vaccine induced aids. AIDS has more than one probable cause.
