Man, when I was in grad school, there was an 18 year old Russian kid who's dad was a teacher and he got a special exception to work kinda like a post-doc in one of the professor's labs.
Kid was off the charts brilliant, and he could tear through scientific literature. He was extremely brusque, to the point of being quite humorous.
a lot of russians are very smart people. especially in history, science and math for some reason . not sure why? O.o they always excelled at all of that in my elementary, middle and high schools i went.
