It was a false flag operation to cause a rift between the Egyptians and the Americans/British. It's funny how in his diaries he even says things like: Our troops who infiltrated enemy lines and found themselves 5 kilometers inside their borders were Unjustly Attacked!!! They had to defend themselves and thus killed many Arabs!! We are victims!!
