Both browsers, Chrome and Firefox are opensorce. There is "Russian" Yandex browser based on Chrome codebase if you wish. It will just send telemetry to Yandex, and not to Google.
China also have their own browser, forgot the name, with lion as mascot.
Really, codebase of Crome and Firefox became too big and complex, that it does not matter if they are opensourced or not. Both have enormous amount of different garbage code thoroughly mixed up with bits of useful one. It is nearly impossible for enthusiasts to clean all that shit up and continue to support that codebase free of all that big brother shit. That is why all that PolarFox'es, Ungoogled Cromiums and other projects of "probeless" browsers are always few versions back.
There exists one shitless and probeless open-source browser with decent and simple source code suitable for understanding and modification - NetSurf. It works and already useful for many things, but it is still a lot of work to be done to implement all that stupid Web2.0 bells and whistles modern webmonkeys like to use to build modern sites.
SlimBrowser is just an envelope for a Microsoft Internet Explorer Trident engine. So, it is basically old IE with new face. With all telemetry and probes from IE.
