The rule of thumb is, if a news piece comes out on Tuesday or Wednesday, it might lead to a followup. Not that it would be true, but people will pretend it is, so you can at least keep up with the fashion. Mondays and Thursdays are iffy, and anything on Friday or the weekend is something you can sleep off without losing track of the narrative.
In short, check the news two days a week, and enjoy some more productive activity on the rest. You won't miss a thing.
Maybe the bio-labs are being used to try and create the aliens using CRISPR which was only developed as recently as 2012. It's like the nuclear arms race, but with manipulating human DNA. Are they creating aliens? Chimeras? Superhumans? Killer viruses? Probably yes to all of these.
Funny that, but a few years ago didn't Marcon blurt out because everybody else is enhancing humans creating super soldiers they would. At the time China was reported as doing it, and they blamed America. But even Russia has had those programs.

Gene editing has been happening for decades. In fact wasn't there ethical debates in the 90s on it. Because people were using insemination and then selecting what traits their children would have eyes, hair, intelligence, beauty, etc.
It is past that as cloning has been happening, creating entire species of animals, but then Chimeras are rapidly being attempted like pig monkeys, human monkey dna, etc etc. Much is medical organ transplant. More is unethical. Are they cloning humans yet. What was Episten doing in New Mexico? Eugenics? What was the equipment? Of course it was also distorted into impregnating a bunch of kids. But aren't there human programs increasingly. How did they brain transplant? Perhaps an urban myth but reported as successful.
