I found this old post by searching for smartphones. I agree with you. I use a flip phone and refuse to own a smartphone. I'm a child of the '80s, when phones were used to call people. Now everyone has smartphones and do everything with them BUT call people. People would rather text each other and are scared to just call one another. And yes, they really do feel so confining with such a small screen, and limited. I'll use my computer at work and home, but when I am out, I prefer to be free from online information overload. It's draining people. And the interface sucks on smartphones. It's why Windows 8 and Linux Gnome GUIs suck. They're like a Fisher Price version of a computer.
