Big money, they kind that's to big to fail in other words, has bought into crypto. It's being co-opted. It still has advantages, in that it is "free speech money", for now at least.
BTW, the big exchanges have been co-opted for years, by handing over your data to the IRS.
Interesting shift in the anti-crypto arguments. It's like they forgot they said it was all a ponzi scheme for suckers and worthless and you should buy muh gold and AR-15s. Funny, because anybody with any sense diversifies and has gold/silver/guns/food AND crypto.
And no, I'm not referring to any one person in particular.
It depends on where you live. If you use torrent protocol (and no vpn), you are automatically flagged and usually contacted by your isp for piracy and litigation. Many peoples lives have been ruined. Torrent still exists, but using it more or less immediately flags you - and vpn's are also not "your friends".
You can by exchange rate. Those are not set by "the market" my friend, and when the regulations hit - that exchange market will be equally controlled as all others are for financial fraud/theft purposes.
Bits are only worth anything because these governments allow them to be. But it doubtful that will go on for much longer (as this is clearly the prelude to).
It is our duty to ignore unjust and illegal laws, in my country - but another saying in my country is "tell it to the judge" - and unfortunately that one trumps our liberties and laws :(
They take all your assets, go after family members for the debt, and/or throw your ass in prison [rape tank]. Not a good time :(
so you are an idiot. Idiots should pay. Use VPN or other things to not allow them to find you. As I told, it is completely up to you, whether to allow them to know that you doing something they don't like.
It is an illusion. They force you to think that some sheets of paper or digits in bank account somehow differ and more important than some other objects you agreed with your pals to use as a mean of exchnage. Quit that deadloop. Only your skills, labor, knowledge and things you own have real significance. Money is nothing, it is just a tool to make life easier. You could use anything you want as money. And state currency in any form should be the last choice in current times.
With crypto there are no any way to figure out that it is you, who own or use crypto, unless you allow them to do it. Just don't allow them to do it and they will not take your assets because tey would not know that it is your assets have to be taken.
People who trust their vpn's, paid or not - are idiots.
It does offer SOME protection, but if they want you (i.e. you are doing something flagrant and/or abnormal) they are going to get your VPN and then your ISP to snitch (as a general rule).
Sure you can daisy chain them, try to go through a nation that doesn't keep logs etc. etc. The cat and mouse game is largely for show, and obfuscation is not security.
You can only do that if your worthless bits (just like the worthless paper they are backed by) are accepted as trade by another. Those others, as well as you, are going to get the screws put to you. You are fish in a barrel.
Rise your own VPN. VPN that is not completely controlled by you is not a VPN at all.
Yes. That's the point.
Choose your "others" carefully. Don't fall to bells and whistles. It is not as hard as you think.
Difficult, but not impossible. Infeasible for the vast majority.
I don't have your faith. You believe that people will be able to "stand up" and continue to use this "currency" when to do so makes you a criminal. They won't. Just watch.
I generally agree with this, but it will only allow local trade with close friends (and you have to hope they aren't feds or sell out to save their ass :()
In that scenario your bits are only worth what they have to trade for them, and the only thing you will have to back them up are your physical commodities, likewise. You are back to the barter system, and the bits are devalued and worthless. You don't seem to understand what paper currency is, or what it is for. It is the ghost of money, and cryptocurrency is the digital essence of the ghost of money.
This will only work if it's legal, otherwise there won't be any exchange rate to manipulate. Funny how anti-crypto people always change the narrative. You can't both have the cake and eat it. 🤡
There will be de-facto. In either case, wether they make it illegal or devalue it to nothing - the end result is the same. What once you could trade for the goods and services you require, now you cannot. When made illegal, people who have it and stubbornly still BELIEVE in its value will try to use it - and the few (if any) who accept it will automatically devaluate it for the risk and acknowledgement that it isn't worth much, if anything, after having been made illegal.
I'm not anti-crypto, I'm anti fiction, slavery, manipulation, and delusion. Crypto is exactly the same as the fiat money it is backed by, and for the same reasons. It's just another con/shell game dude.
You're choosing to play the game by their rules.
Fact is, most crypto coins are not pegged to fiat at all, they're pegged to Bitcoin. Heck, first purchase ever made with Bitcoin was two pizzas. And for millenniums we've had gold as primary source of money, an asset similar to Bitcoin, because you mine gold, and the supply is limited.
Don't be their slave when you have a choice.
