Wasn't it among sanctions for Syria, or Novichok, when Russia was banned from the G summits? It might not have been all of the Russian oligarchy off the forum. Until perhaps now.
Why was he a member because of global leadership. Like China was invited and even headed it briefly.
Trump's presidency questioned China on it, and questioned why Russia wasn't reinstated back to the G summits.
