I don't think anyone is shilling for Russia. But the events remind me of what happened with Pearl Harbor. The US cut off Japan's supply of oil and Japan turned around and attacked the US. It was an entirely avoidable situation.
in 2014, the US backed basically a violent overthrow in Ukraine. That and the fact the NATO has been expanding to basically surround Russia are the seeds of where we are today.
We invade other countries all the time. Why's it suddenly a big deal when other countries follow our example?

We are just cheering Russia on like we did the U.S when it decided to intervene in Iraq, Libya, Syria, etc. Ukraine had crossed a red line when it tried to join NATO after accepting 3 billion in weapons from NATO. /s
