Ivermectin after invention in late 1970s was studied by many researches as a wide-range cure and become very promising substance with good perspectives. Inventors even got a Nobel prize for it just in 2015. With all it's controversies and politics Nobel prize is still not just some school decoration given for some not very popular "dewormer".

Also, interesting that ivermectin have natural origin, as a sligtly modified mix of avermectin substances found in one bacteria species.

Ivermectin inhibits the production of protein thus it slows down viruses and cancer from replicating allowing your natural immune system to clean up. I'm not 100% on this but this is just my cursory understanding as someone who hasn't put in a lot research.
