It is founded on emotion. I would rather call it a religion, “covidism”, in the sense of giving people meaning to their lives according to a worldview which is fundamentally what religions offer. Covidism, however, is a primitive transhuman religion based on stupidity, that is to say, on those following the laws of stupid people according to the economic-historian, Carlo Cipolla. Stupid people ignore solid evidence based facts according to reason. The world is in trouble and heading for totaliatarianism. It is a matter of time that the so-called democratic countries instutute their Orwellian Ministries of Truth to silence journals like the BMJ.
