What is the Symbology around the Pumpkin?

I know that orange is one of the Mason's favorite colors, but I read that the Pumpkin also has symbology?

Has anyone heard this, or have theories?

Not sure, but I recently cut one in half vertically and was surprised to see that it was a perfect torus shape on the inside, right down to the apple core like center.

I make money off them in fall.i cant guarantee orange is a favorite color of most Mason's, I'm sure some like it.
