The only reason simulation theory is coming back is because our understanding of the universe points towards creationism.
Our best guess to how life began on the earth is literally directed panspermia. It’s either we are in a very complex simulation, aliens, or God. That’s where we’re at. But if they convince you it’s just a simulation then what you do has no consequence. That unburdens people from their own behavior and demoralizes people.
Simulation theories encourage suicide, this goes along with depopulation campaigns.
