Depends on what you mean under holocaust.
Was the jews the most harmed nation? Definitely not. Jewish losses in WWII hardly exceed 1-2 million, including jews who was in Red Army and Wehrmacht. Most losses was Russians and Germans, 25 and 10 millions respectively.
Jews even was not the most killed in german camps.
Yes, Germany specifically treated jews by etnicity, but that was common thing of that time around the world. From Japanese in US to Germans and Austirans in Britain, Russians and later Germans and others in USSR, chinese in Japan, etc.
If you retrospect the post WWI German history and role that Jews played in destruction of Germany, there will be no questions about the reasons why many Germans was angry towards the Jews.
So, there was nothing superspecial about the Jews.
Holohoax sacred 6 million of victims number was first declared nearly 1918 IIRC in some Jewish literature. They just strain that number to the WWII losses.

Perfect list, thank you. That is definitely some very special and sacred figure for them, to the point that they lobbied the laws in Europe with jail sentence just for questioning that 6 millions dogma.
So, every rational and intelligent human being should question and doubt it as wide as possible, just because they so try to prevent that.
In Russia, the most popular nickname for holocaust is "lohocaust", where "loh" means "potential victim of swindle" in rogue language.
