Just reminding everyone that Guns will NOT save you from what happening next, nor does being able of growing food independently is getting me jaded.
Guns do not work against political collapse, only against roving bandits. And bandits are the least of your worries here.
As for farmlands make sure your government couldn't just bribe you or start a few Bundys or Wacos.
The only way is for 30% or more people affected by the Communist Revolution to ignore all "measures" and move on, preferably 60% - 90%.
True. Network effects are critical and all movements start with thresholds of between 10-30% of the population.
