In the worst case, people worldwide become sick of this shit and uproot it entirely after a decade and by that time it's a bit too late because most of the youth will be illiterate, the survivors who are will be so PTSD ridden that any rebuilding is a moot cause for at least this century and most cities and social infrastructure had to be re-developed which will take an extra 2-3 decades.
