If nature communicates itself to us through sound; what does suggesting shaped sound (words) imply for understanding perceived sound?

Growth of comprehension requires choice based adaptation to inspiration; while resisting the temptation of suggested information.
How about this one? Does a "cow" exist before we branded it "cow"? If yes; does everything existed before we branded it with suggested words? If nature doesn't brand itself; why do we do it?
