Keep it short, state a religious belief on why you don’t want the shot, and leave the science and personal opinions out of it. Make it so they can’t argue your belief.

Don't say anything your covid lawyer would advise against.

Helpful suggestion, don't go with the fetal cell argument that so many people argue. It has giant holes that allow them to doubt/question the sincerity (i.e. if you take aspirin or almost any modern medicine you'd be violating it)

Just argue something simple: "my body is extremely important to me and I don't believe in doing things to it that are know deep down aren't right. I don't believe doing actions purely because of threats/fear (e.g. Do this or you can't come to college) is the way to live out our lives on earth. I believe in living a life with integrity"... then quote a bunch of bible passages on integrity.

Keep it focused on how you conduct yourself (rather than what you actually think of the vaccine) and stay away from the science arguments.

Disclaimer: I am not a lawyer and this does not constitute legal advice.

3 sentences.

I am applying for a religious exemption. I will be forced to leave the university without it. Thank you for your understanding.

The less said the better.

I stand by my original three sentences.

Theyre asking this and asking that.

If it were me i might add a 4th and tell them to fuck off to hell.

You dont have to "explain" your religion to a bunch of satanic souless bastards.

They either comply with you or lose a customer.

This is a great letter by a prof. But please keep yours simple.

Godspeed.

Christian is pretty vague and most people have different definitions for that term. Some consider Catholics to be Christians while others don’t. I think you are safe with either option there. Doesn’t hurt to throw a bible verse or two in there to support your beliefs. Asking for a religious letter from anyone is unreasonable and a religion can be your own, personal belief and not include any organized movement. Peggy Hall has some great videos on YT that could help you too.

"I have a sincerely held religious belief that prevents me from vaccination. Signed, John Doe"

Leave the onus on them to dissect your beliefs without being given any specifics. Don't hand them enough rope to hang you.

  • "I'm X religion" -we talked to your leader and he said it's okay

  • "Abortion" -we looked at the ingredients and think it's fine

  • "Cloning is bad" -it's not cloning because it's not a whole organism

  • "My pre-existing health condition" -don't be silly, is safe and effective

Just say no and mean no, and give HR what they need so they can check your box as 'Resolved'.

Sure would be inconvenient for them if someone pointed out the large swathes of students violating the student code of ethics as it relates to drugs and alcohol. This inconsistency in approach could open them up to misconduct and religious discrimination concerns.

Here's an advice - never give up. They may convince you that the dark can get you but you can beat it with the smallest of lights.

See if you can make a race exemption in addition to the religious one

Saw a guy on the reddit conspiracy sub who claimed he got his exemtion by saying his Native American ancestors came to him in a vision and warned him not to take the "white man's vaccine".

Edit: found the link https://old.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/qczdja/im_making_this_post_as_an_insurance_policy_i_am/hhj3r63/

WTF are you doing at a university anyway? Paying to get brain-washed? (that's from someone who has a uni-degree)

State you're native american and your ancestors came to you in a vision. Make it racial and religious. Make it everything.

This podcast went over some exemption ideas and has good citations.
The tone of it also helped when I was writing my document.
He has example documents, and some more recent episodes on status of the current 'mandates', executive orders, reading your local policies carefully etc.
They also discuss that questions of which particular religious sect you belong to are not required as outlined in civil rights act of 1964.
If they ask, I'm going to say that is religious discrimination and creating a hostile environment.
Hopefully they either bend the knee, or fuck up and put you in a position to sue and get money.
