I am sure the people here know this already, but only a tiny percentage of the general public has any idea what this even means.

It's my understanding that to get around the law they changed the definition of "gain of function" so that the Wuhan research (the research that can be proven anyhow) would technically fall outside of the new definition. I have not checked into that claim yet, so I could be totally wrong.
