It's kinda funny because rethinking this made me think of YHWH, and how Yahweh similarly has "power" over the Jewish people. Now whether that is God, El, Satan, or something else is up for interpretation.

Also reminds me of a Satanist on Reddit I was quibbling with who wouldn't write out "Hail Satan" proper, which I found amusing.
