The underlying mechanism here is likely glutathione which cysteine helps increase. Certain similar compounds still provide cysteine. For example L cysteine. However N is generally considered better and safer though I don’t have safety concerns about either.
I got covid (twice about a year apart)… lysine was recommended to me by a friend along with zinc, high dose C and D and fresh pineapple and quercetin. I didn’t have lysine on hand and was quickly feeling horrible the first time I got it so I actually door dashed it from cvs 😂 and I took it in a high dose. And the cocktail that I took really helped me. Or I would have been in trouble. Also I’m healthy, active, fit in my 30’s. I didn’t think the lysine was doing anything at the time but kept taking it anyway. Now reading this study I realize it was part of what was making me feel better.
Please DON’T spread the word about NAC. I actually need NAC for non-COVID reasons. If it y’all go around telling everyone it might help cure or prevent COVID, it’ll get banned and then people who actually need it won’t be able to get it.
Explains why the FDA is trying to ban it.
The FDA's reason to exist is to remove our access to anything that helps.
Yep. Found a supplier nearby and purchased immediately after the Amazon ban.

I'm sure NAC does more, but glutathione helps your body recycle vitamin C, and if NAC helps increase glutathione it'll increase vitamin C as well.
Read the studies about L-lysine and covid prevention. Protection for pennies a day. I keep telling people but no one listens.

Seeing as lysine helps with uptake of proteins and cysteine provides an essential protein for repair, I suspect the combination would be synergistic.

We all need it now
Correct. And this is why the FDA is trying to get it off the market. That tells you everything you need to know.
its estimated 45% of the FDAs budget is gladly provided by big pharma.
NAC is best taken with antioxidants and hi protein.
and if you buy zinc, cause it kicks ass, buy "ionized zinc."
"piping rock" makes their own. cheap & high qual.
