We could essentially minimize the flu if we actually cared, but we don't.
Also, even if you think it's a shitty pandemic, it's killed more people in the past year with extreme measures in place than any other pandemic in 100 years.
If it burned through the population, like other plagues did with no protection, we could be looking at 100 million+ dead over a decade.
Those aren't small numbers.
And no, I don't think it's the worst thing ever, but to compare it to a regular flu is just dumb now.
The province I live in, in the past 50 years, has had 800 flu deaths as a peak in 1 year, usually 200 or so as an average. It's killed over 10,000 here now, with masks, social distancing, sanitization everywhere, lockdowns, vaccines and even a fucking curfew.
Minimize it all you want, that's your choice, but it's kind of dishonest.
And maybe it will never go away either way, but the fact that you seem proud you've done absolutely nothing to help out is pathetic. Honestly. Really sad.
A perogi is a deep fried potato thingy.
I really meant your perogative. It's always nice when people admit that they didn't take any precautions, even when they think they got it.
And people wonder why this shit is still going around, and will forever probably.
