It’s not as simple as reducing this to science bs religion. Abortion is murder. Question then becomes whether it’s morale. You don’t need to invoke beliefs to advocate for life. It’s unnatural due a species to not want to propagate.
If we’re open to using utility theory as justification then I’d assert that abortion is worse than murder: it’s propagandize systemic genocide. Intentional killing is always murder though sometimes it might be justifiable (soldiers, self defense, death penalty).
If we’re being practical though there’s really no lack of abundance present to justify killing. We don’t have to abandon our young nor propagate the mistaken belief that personal convenience is virtuous.
