Nonsense. Social Media is a tool of government. Yes it is also global. Meaning the citizen simply gets silenced, as the corp broadcasts. And the foreign troll and bot flourishes. But irregardless. War doesn't need elaborate narratives. It needs simple causality.
Causality has become quite simple in creating actions causing war. Social media often easily stirring insurgency.
Today government also easily reserves the right to mute social media in the event of war, insurgency, or martial law. Although they simply control the narrative in the West. Where war has already occurred and they simply prompt support on social media or don't use it.
Unfortunately both Iraq wars would've occurred. First was defending an Allie. The next was toppling a dictator who had previously declared war making sure any threat was neutralised so it couldn't reoccur.
Social media doesn't do anything else in the scheme of things. It would've supported it. Until it fickles a new narrative.
